The Netherlands Space Society (NVR) once again had the privilege of participating in the highly anticipated ESTEC Open Day on October 8th, 2023. Drawing in an impressive crowd of approximately 8000 space enthusiasts, the event proved to be an extraordinary celebration of space exploration, technology, and innovation. Here are the highlights of our memorable presence at the event:

Big Thanks to our volunteers!

With over 10 volunteers at our booth, we engaged visitors in stimulating discussions about space. Our members were answered questions and discussed all things space-related with space enthusiasts of all age groups. Visitors also had the chance to explore the several editions of our space magazine, “Ruimtevaart,” showcasing informative articles and stunning visuals.

Sneak Previews

We provided a glimpse into our exciting lineup of upcoming space-related events, from the Galaxy Gala, the Young Professionals Event and planned company visits which we will soon announce on our website.

Empowering Young Professionals

Our Young Professionals committee highlighted our commitment to supporting young talent in the space industry. The committee members were active at our booth to get new members onboard, who are working in various industries and want to get acquainted with the space sector, or surround themselves with Space. Wendy Mensink, Head of the YP Committee, also gave some insights into future activities of the group.

NLSpace Tent: A Hub of Space Exploration

Overall, the NLSpace tent was a bustling hub and the place to be! It featured an intense stage program, Dutch industry engagement, and engaging activities. It offered a comprehensive view of the Dutch and international space industry’s remarkable advancements and projects.

Welcoming New Members

We are pleased to announce that a good number of new members registered with the NVR during the Open Day. This demonstrates the growing interest and involvement in the space community in the Netherlands.

The NVR’s presence at the ESTEC Open Day was a testament to our dedication to space exploration, education, and collaboration.
