Company visit: KNMI

The NVR is pleased to invite you to a company visit to the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) in De Bilt, Utrecht; the scientific institute specialized in meteorology, climate science and seismology.

Programme

• 16:00-16:30 Welcome in the Buijs Ballot room with coffee/water/bites
• 16:30-16:50 Presentation about the KNMI and the Early Warning Center (Rob Sluijter)
• 16:50-17:10 Presentation about the treasury of TROPOMI (Pepijn Veefkind)
• 17:10-17:25 Visit to the Weather Room – group 1 (Ruben Ijpelaar)
• 17:10-17:35 Visit to the Calibration Room and the wind tunnel (Ronald van Harn)
• 17:25-17:40 Visit to the Weather Room – group 2 (Ruben IJpelaar)
• 17:50-18:15 Presentation about the role of satellites within the KNMI (Frank Helmich)
• 18:15-19:00 Reception (drinks and bites) in the Central Hall

Registration

At this point the event is fully booked! However, you can still register for a place in the waiting list and get a chance to join in case some places become free by sending an email to secretariaat@ruimtevaart-nvr.nl.

When signing up, please share the following details:

• The number of spots you wish to reserve (each member of the NVR can bring a +1) and your name / names. In case of more than 42 registrations, the available places will be assigned to NVR members who have priority.
• Your preferred choice for the visit; to the Weather Room, or to the Calibration Room and the Wind Tunnel.

Important! Bring your ID card to access the facilities! We kindly ask you to be on time and to come to the KNMI with your own means of transportation.
