Honorary members
Honorary members are appointed to recognize individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the space sector or the society itself. Their expertise and legacy serve as an inspiration to the community and strengthen the network.
Dr. ir. G.J. (Gerard) Blaauw
Gerard played a key role in the development of the Dutch space sector as Director of TNO Space and board member of SpaceNed. After retiring, he continues to support young professionals through the Space Professionals Foundation. From 2011 to 2020, he served as chairman of the NVR, strengthening ties with (international) partners and industry members.
Drs. T.L. (Tanja) Masson-Zwaan
Tanja is a space law expert and serves as Assistant Professor and Deputy Director at the International Institute of Air and Space Law at Leiden University. She has advised the Dutch government on space legislation for many years and played an active role in revitalizing the NVR, where she was a board member and vice-chair from 2010 to 2016.
Ir. H.J.D. (Bart) Reijnen
Bart is an aerospace engineer and former CEO of Dutch Space (now Airbus Defence and Space Netherlands). He has held various leadership positions within Airbus and has been the CEO of Satair Group in Copenhagen since 2016.
Drs. A. (André) Kuipers
André is a Dutch astronaut with the European Space Agency (ESA). He was the third Dutch-born astronaut and the second Dutch national in space after Wubbo Ockels. His first spaceflight took place as part of the Delta mission.
Petrus Lambertus Lucas (Piet) Smolders
Piet is a freelance journalist specializing in spaceflight, recognized as the leading Dutch expert on Russian space exploration. He was the director of the Artis Planetarium and a board member of the National Space Museum.
