Company Visit Airbus Netherlands
On May 21st, NVR members had the unique opportunity to visit the Airbus facilities in Oegstgeest. Daniel Hendrix hosted our group and kicked off the session with a presentation on the activities of Airbus Netherlands.
During the visit, we saw the impressive Nebula building, where structures for the first and second stages of the Ariane 6 rockets, as well as for the Vega-C launcher, are being manufactured- a fascinating glimpse into Europe’s space launch capabilities in action.
We also got a sneak-peak of a brand-new part of the facility where Airbus Netherlands will soon start production of solar arrays for satellites in series. With the commitment to producing over 500 wings starting this summer, the scale is remarkable: the site is designed with the capability to produce more than one solar wing per day, or even more if required!
A big thank you to Airbus Netherlands, in particular to Daniel Hendrix, Hella van Leeuwen, and our site guides Jeroen Mekking and Patrick van den Berg, for the warm welcome and insightful tour, and to everyone who joined this inspiring visit into the future of European space technology.
