Netherlands Space Society as a guest on MAX

On February 3, Philippe Schoonejans was a guest on MAX’s midday broadcast (Tijd voor MAX).

Philippe gave a clear and engaging explanation of the Artemis II mission, which had been scheduled for launch between February 8 and 11, but which has now been postponed by four weeks to early–mid March for technical reasons.

During his presentation, attention was also given to the program Focus, which aired later that same evening (NPO2, 21:20). In this program, Philippe, together with reporter Petra Gijzen, presented an impressive report on the Artemis project, including the specially developed ESA/DLR facility in Porz-Wahn, Germany, where astronauts are trained to stay on the Moon for extended periods of time.

Philippe also spoke on the radio on behalf of the NVR about the delay of the Artemis II launch, on BNR Nieuwsradio (Avondspits, February 3 at 17:21).

We hope that Philippe will join the NVR board (General Members’ Meeting on June 11) as the NVR’s media liaison. In addition, Philippe is a board member of Space Expo in Noordwijk, where he has also made a major contribution to the realization of a special ARTEMIS exhibition.
