NRM lecture – Searching for extraterrestrial life

Is there life beyond Earth? And how would we recognize it if we found it?

On October 4, Inge Loes ten Kate took us on a fascinating journey in the search for extraterrestrial life, focusing in particular on Mars. She explored questions such as how and where we look for signs of life, what exactly we mean by “life” in a scientific context, and when there is sufficient evidence to truly consider a discovery as life. The lecture at the National Space Museum was inspiring and sparked engaging discussions — exactly what makes space exploration so captivating.
