Moon lecture – Space Expo
Space Expo is hosting a Moon Lecture on Tuesday, 12 May!
In this lecture, you’ll discover why we send astronauts into space and how missions to the ISS, the Moon, and later Mars together form one large exploration programme. Philippe Schoonejans and Philippe Deloo will discuss the technology that makes this possible—from rockets and communication systems to the latest innovations.
After that, the Artemis programme will be explored. How does it differ from Apollo? Why is Artemis II so exciting? What do the different phases look like? And what will we be investigating? The lecture also zooms in on the Orion spacecraft and the European Service Module.
Finally, we look ahead to the future: from a sustained presence on the Moon to crewed missions to Mars.
For whom? This lecture is intended for adults and young adults with an interest in spaceflight and astronomy. No prior knowledge is required.
