Artemis II exhibition opens at Space Expo

For the first time in more than fifty years, astronauts are traveling to the Moon. To mark this occasion, spaceflight museum Space Expo opened the exhibition “Artemis II” on Thursday, 5 February.

Space Expo tells the story of spaceflight, and the Artemis missions represent a new and defining chapter in that story. It is therefore important that this theme has a place in the museum. The Artemis II exhibition shows that the launches should be seen as part of a new “race to the Moon,” as China and Russia also harbor similar ambitions. Space Expo explains why journeys to the Moon are important and places them in their geopolitical and historical context. This is done through, among other things, texts, images, and remarkable objects. Special attention is given to the Orion capsule, as it is partly supplied by the European Space Agency (ESA) and equipped with Dutch solar panels. The crew of the Artemis II mission is also highlighted, along with a look toward the future (such as a semi-permanent presence on the Moon and journeys to Mars). The Artemis exhibition can be seen at Space Expo until June 2026.

Definitely worth a visit! More information can be found on the Space Expo website: https://www.space-expo.nl/en/discover/museum/exhibition-artemis-ii
