In Memoriam – Prof. ir. Karel Wakker

On May 30, our former chairman and honorary member Prof. ir. Karel Wakker passed away. For many years, Karel Wakker was a driving force behind the editorial team and also served as a board member. In 1987, he was elected chairman of our association, a position he held until 1993.

In 1998, Karel Wakker was nominated as an honorary member, and for many years he remained willing to support our association in various ways.

We will remember him as a highly knowledgeable, charming, and amiable person who made a significant contribution to the Dutch space sector. A comprehensive article in his honor will appear in a future issue of our Ruimtevaart magazine.
